PFAS – What are they and why are they critical to Sealing Devices?

Fluoropolymers and fluoroelastomers are also considered PFAS under the above definition, even though most are considered safe, defined by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as Polymers of Low Concern. The unique properties of fluoropolymers make them indispensable for high-performance sealing devices, including those used to meet Low E compliance regulations. There are currently no known materials available to replace them in our industry.
