Chesterton Introduces Industrial Coating for Oil and Gas Separators and Other Extreme High-Temperature Applications

ARC S5 offers low permeability, high tensile pull strength for high-temperature immersion and vapour protection.

Chesterton’s newest industrial coating protects and upgrades new as well as older equipment immersed in corrosive conditions up to 180°C (356°F). The ARC S5 formulation includes fine-graded reinforcements which resist permeation, thermal-mechanical shock, blistering leading to cold wall delamination, and rapid decompression. It is easily applied by roller, brush, squeegee, or airless spray.

“Extremely high temperatures combined with corrosive forces take a significant toll on oil pipelines, oil/water and oil/gas separators, and other equipment,” says Stephen Bowditch, Director of Product Line Management for Chesterton’s ARC and Lubrication/MRO groups. “ARC S5 provides a strong and highly durable surface, and enhances equipment’s service life to reduce issues down the line.”

To enhance safe use, ARC S5 is 100%, no VOCs, no free isocyanates. It offers in-situ curing in service at elevated temperatures and does not require post-curing. It is tested to NACE TM0185 to 180°C (356°F) and 100 BAR (1450 PSI).

ARC S5 comes in a 5-litre kit or 16-litre kit and is available in light grey or medium grey colours.
