Category: All Industries

High-Performance Polymer for Extreme Applications

Overview

AWC860 is a proprietary high-temperature polymer developed by Chesterton for use in demanding static and dynamic sealing environments. Engineered to provide exceptional performance under high thermal loads, AWC860 (commonly referred to by its signature cherry red colour) is the material of choice for critical sealing components such as D-rings, bushings, and support rings in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Exceptional High-Temperature Resistance
Maintains integrity in static applications up to 260°C (500°F), making it ideal for thermal cycling environments.
  • Superior Wear Resistance
Designed for long-term durability in abrasive and high-pressure applications, reducing downtime and replacement costs.
  • Chemical Compatibility
Exhibits excellent resistance to hydraulic fluids, process chemicals, steam, and aggressive cleaning agents.
  • Low Friction & Galling
Reduces the risk of stick-slip or scoring on mating surfaces, improving overall system reliability.
  • Dimensionally Stable
Offers excellent creep resistance and maintains shape under mechanical stress and high loads.

Typical Applications

AWC860 is used in a variety of critical industrial environments, including:

  • Hydraulic & Pneumatic Cylinders
  • Valve Stem Packing
  • Compressor Systems
  • Pump Components
  • Heavy-Duty Mechanical Equipment

It is commonly incorporated into wiper seals, rod seals, and custom bushings.
