Challenge
Industrial mixers are essential equipment in the rubber industry, where synthetic rubber, additives, and binders are blended
to produce raw rubber. In the past, large pneumatic cylinders were commonly used for the main ram, but new-generation mixers typically feature hydraulic systems due to their operational advantages.
However, due to the extremely dirty working environment (especially carbon black) and weak seal designs, OEM seal kits have often failed to deliver a satisfactory service life. This has led to unwanted leakage in dusty and dirty areas, along with repeated maintenance requirements and additional costs.
When a customer’s OEM kits failed to provide sufficient service life, the customer first tried a well-known local brand and installed rubber stack sets. However, after 10 – 12 months, leakage reoccurred, and the customer contacted us to resolve the issue because they trusted Chesterton’s quality and expertise.
