High Pressure Bonnet Seal for Turbine Bypass Valve

Issue
The turbine bypass valve controls high-pressure and high-temperature steam in the fossil power plant. Low-density, low-quality graphite seals have been the source of numerous issues in these valves.
The valve’s OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) supplies fully assembled valves, and any issues identified during testing can lead to significant problems, such as delivery delays.

Application
Chesterton supplied 5900I and 5900MI pressure seals with a density of 1.6 g/cc for the valve bonnet seals. The operating steam conditions are 293 barg and 608°C.
