Extended Chain Life with Chesterton 720 CCG at ECO Energy Plant
Challenge
Issue
Generating power from domestic household waste is an eco-friendly solution. Clean power is produced by incinerating sorted waste material. A conveyor feeds waste material into the combustion boiler. The customer encountered issues with the waste transfer conveyor chain. Due to severe operating conditions (heat, water, and dust) and the use of poor lubricant (used oil), the chain life was only 6 months.

Solution
Application
Due to the severe conditions at this plant, Chesterton® 720 Chain, Cable, and Gear Lubricant (CCG) with was chosen for use. Chesterton 720 CCG not only lubricated the chain links but also served as an excellent lubricant for the chain rollers.
Applying with Chesterton 720 CCG with 475ML Trigger Sprayer.
Results
Increase Reliability & Productivity
After using Chesterton 720 CCG for six months, the customer reported:
• Increased chain life.
• No breakdowns.
