Solution

Preparation:
A Sponge-Jet blast to remove previous coating and increase new coating life.

Application:
The specialists at Chesterton recommended the application of ARC S7 AR Erosion Resistant Coating, which is ideal for corrosion protection of FGD systems, preventing problems that can occur with other coatings.

ARC S7 AR industrial coating is designed to:

  • Resist erosion
  • ​Resist thermal cycling conditions up to 180°C (350°F)
  • Resist a wide range of inorganic as well as organic acids and hydrocarbon based chemical compounds
  • Easily be applied by airless spray system

Results

Our customer reported no problems with the ARC S7 AR coating during the 12-month inspections.  The touch-up repairs that were previously undertaken every year were now no longer needed.
